This vegetable hod/onion hopper is a traditional basket used for storing your vegetables.
It is woven in green and 'buff willow' (willow that has been boiled and peeled). It has a lid with an opening at the top to put your newer vegetables in and an opening at the bottom to retrieve them allowing good stock management - using older veg first.
This style of basket is constructed using the ‘stake and strand method’ forming a round base, inserting side stakes and weaving to form the sides.
A lovely addition to your kitchen or pantry to store your veg adding warmth and texture to your home.
