Oval shopping basket in white and 'buff noir' willow

This oval shopping basket is made from white (stripped) willow and 'buff noir'(steamed and stripped). I love the combination of these two colours, it makes me think of dark and light chocolate or coffee and cream.
 It is woven with french rand in a double french rand contrasting the two colours.
 
I've woven this one with slight curves around the bottom to give a softer sculptural shape.
This style of basket is constructed using the ‘stake and strand method’ forming a round base, inserting side stakes and weaving to form the sides with a wrapped bow handle.
The handle also has a lovely herring bone weave detail.
 
Ideal for shopping at market, family picnics, carrying to the allotment for your veg, storage around the home or even used for kindling.
 
It measures approx H38 x W32 x D35
