Woven Tea Tray with recycled plastic base in blues

This tea tray is made in collaboration with Relic Plastics. 
They recycle plastic waste into beautiful functional products, and in this case gorgeous sheet material. Each base that I use is like an individual and unique work of art in itself.
 
This piece is a lovely mix of blues and white which make me think of the sea.
I have woven the sides using 'buff' willow (which has been boiled and stripped of bark - which dyes the willow a tan/toffee colour) and added pull handles for a smooth contemporary look. 
I love the contrast between the clean lines and random patterns of the plastic and the rustic texture yet ordered weave of the willow.
 
Ideal for use around the home as a tea tray, a fruit bowl or even to display on the wall.
Great as a gift for birthdays, house warming or weddings.
